WebWithout provides safe online protection
for your family or workplace. We do this by providing a free, simple and easy to use
service that filters out the less desirable aspects of the Internet.
Once you use the WebWithout service, you can be confident in the knowledge that
your user experience will be free of items such as pornography, Phishing,
violence, racial hatred and such like.
To use the WebWithout service, you have to make changes to your computer's DNS
settings. This can be achieved by using the
WebWithout Setup Wizard or by manually
changing your settings if you are confident to do so.
DNS stands for the Domain Name Service. This is a core service that is used throughout
the Internet to convert friendly domain names, such as www.webwithout.com, into
unfriendly IP address such as 192.168.100.1.
When you use the WebWithout service, your computer will query the WebWithout DNS
servers rather than your existing servers that are provided by your Internet
Service Provider. The benefit of this is that the WebWithout DNS servers provide
the filtering to ensure your Internet experience is safe, and without
inappropriate content.
WebWithout uses filtering technology that is collected from numerous sources.
This is combined and regularly updated to ensure the protection we offer for the
sites you visit is as up to date as possible. Obviously, due to the size and
dynamic nature of the Internet we cannot guarantee that all inappropriate
content will be filtered, but we will do a good job in getting pretty close. We
currently have over two million filtered domain names in our database, and this
grows daily.

Wikipedia. Be sure to read our
